Clinical Hypnotherapy to help improve your wellbeing


Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy is a safe and powerful tool which can be used to break the negative cycle of depression and anxiety. 

It can help with addictions, anger, blood pressure, weight control, lack of confidence, insomnia, IBS, relationships, migraine, panic attacks, obsessions, fears, phobias, stress and more.

Several years ago, I decided to follow my passion to help improve people’s mental and physical well being. After suffering from poor mental health, myself, I am only too aware of the lack of resources available. Once recovered I was determined to keep well, but also to help other people who want to take control of their lives and see things from a more positive perspective.

 I received my Hypnotherapy Diploma from CPHT Peterborough, which is recognised as a Gold Standard for Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy Training. My qualification in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy  is  recognized  by the Complimentary Natural Health Council (CHNC). The CNHC was set up by the government to protect the public. They  do this by providing an independent UK register of complementary healthcare practitioners. Protection of the public is the sole purpose of the CNHC.

The CNHC sets the standards that I need to meet to get onto and then stay on the register. Like all CNHC registrants, I have agreed to be bound by the highest standards of conduct and have registered voluntarily. All CNHC members are professionally trained and fully insured to practise. Not all providers of clinical hypnotherapy are registered with the CNHC.

I have been working with volunteers and then paying clients since September 2018 and my testimonials show how I have helped some of them. Naturally not everyone chooses to give me a testimonial but the ones that have highlight how I can help people move forward with their lives.

I am a mum of two young adults and married to an ex-military man which means I have moved around a lot and been lucky enough to meet many people from all walks of life. Unfortunately, I have seen several friends, and whilst working as an accountant, colleagues and clients struggling to cope with every day life. This has spurred me on to follow my heart so that I can help people to get back on track and find the happiness they deserve.

I am a member of MIND, a mental health charity, that I have turned to when I was unwell in 2015 and I have fundraised (£7,000 and counting) for them ever since, including running the London Marathon in 2017 and the Great North Run (half marathon) in 2019. I was new to running but I am now very aware of how running or any physical activity you undertake helps to maintain and improve mental well being. 

In my spare time I am a Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme supervisor and I have therefore been lucky enough to see at first hand the positive impact of a weekend of fresh air and no technology has on young people.

I am also a  qualified First Aider and Youth  Mental Health First Aider.

‘You lifted me off the floor’ is one of the comments I have received as feedback. Words like that motivate me to continue working with clients form all walks of life to help them achieve their true potential and be the best they can be.

 I am currently studying for a Masters Degree (MSc) in Psychological Well-being and Mental Health at Nottingham Trent University. I will complete this on a part time basis whilst still offering Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy from my therapy room in Caythorpe. This additional training enables me to keep abreast of contemporary issues around mental health and wellbeing in the UK and  I can share this knowledge with my clients when appropriate. I am 

My clients come from all walks of life, aged from 8 to 85, with a variety of issues and emotions. By the time they come to see me they may have tried many other ways to help them take control of their emotions or unhelpful habits and by the end of my  Free Initial Consultation they are quite often surprised how much more they understand about themselves and relieved that I can usually help  them in as little as 8 to 12 weeks (sometimes even less). In my sessions we always focus on the future without the need to revisit the past.

I can help most people but my clients do need to have a desire to change and improve their situation. The first thing I aim to do is to start to build a good rapport and therapeutic relationship with my client from the very first initial consultation. We build on this together in future sessions.

In the therapeutic setting of my tranquil therapy room I use hypnotherapy because it helps to directly assess the subconscious mind. Once my clients are in a state of relaxation the conscious mind becomes less active and the subconscious mind becomes more open and receptive to positive suggestion and reinforcement. The brain is more receptive to positive suggestions when the conscious mind is less alert.

There is lots of evidence on line supporting the long term benefits of hypnotherapy to deal with many conditions. Negative beliefs, values  and behaviours can be changed which can help my clients towards aa happy and healthy life.
